Women's Health

You Don’t Have to ‘Just Live With It’ Anymore

Acupuncture is especially effective in treating many Women’s Health issues, including PMS, fertility, fibroids, menopause and labor induction.

Many women have come to believe that cramps, irritability, or daily hot flashes are normal and something that has to be suffered through.  Any uncomfortable symptoms associated with menopause, menses, or fibroids are an indication that there is an underlying imbalance that can be corrected with acupuncture and herbs.

Chinese medicine is safe, effective and works quickly. Following my protocol of herbs and regular acupuncture, I expect a typical PMS or menopause patient see a 50% reduction in symptoms after 1 month, and 80% after 2 months, with lasting results.

Pre-Menstrual Syndrome

It is estimated that 60% of American women suffer every month from some form of PMS.  Cramps, bloating, irritability, depression, breast tenderness, and headaches do not have to be part of your monthly cycle.  These symptoms arise when there is an underlying imbalance or stagnation in the body.

Although premenstrual syndrome is considered a modern phenomenon, acupuncturists have been treating what they called “menstrual movement disease” for thousands of years.  Acupuncture does not merely suppress symptoms, but re-balances the entire body, resulting in improved overall health, a decrease in anxiety and a pain-free, regular cycle.

A typical course of treatment for PMS spans 3-4 menstrual cycles with the number of treatments declining each month.  A recent study found that among women with severe pre-menstrual symptoms, 77.8% of them experienced no form of PMS after three months of weekly treatments (Archives of Gynecology and Obstetrics, 2002).
